BACKLINE	LINEA TRASERA
The line across the ice at the back of the house. Stones which are over this line are removed from play.	La linea que divide el hielo en la parte posterior de la casa. Las piedras que se encuentran despues de esta linea no cuentan en el juego.
BITER	MORDIDA
A stone that just touches the outer edge of the circles.	Una piedra que apenas toca los limites externos de los circulos
BLANK END	END VACIO
An end in which no points have been scored.	Un End en el cual no se acumulan puntos
BONSPIEL	BONSPIEL
A curling competition or tournament.	Un torneo de curling
BRUSH	CEPILLO
A device used to sweep the ice in the path of a moving stone.	Herramienta utilizada para cepillar el hielo en la trayectoria de una piedra en movimiento
BURNED STONE	PIEDRA QUEMADA
A stone in motion touched by a member of either team, or any part of their equipment. Burned stones are removed from play.	Una piedra en movimiento que ha sido tocada por un miembro de cualquier equipo, o con alguna parte de sus instrumentos. Las piedras quemadas se quitan del juego.
BUTTON	BOTON
The circle at the centre of the house.	El circulo al centro de la casa
COUNTER	CONTADOR
Any stone in the rings or touching the rings which is a potential point.	Cualquier piedra dentro de los aros o que tocan los aros que es potencial de hacer un punto
CURL	CURL
The amount a rock bends while travelling down the sheet of ice.	La contidad en que una piedra se voltea mientras se desliza en la pista de hielo
DRAW WEIGHT	DRAW WEIGHT
The momentum required for a stone to reach the house or cirlces at the distant end.	El momentum que se requiere para que una piedra alcance la casa o los circulos a la distancia
END	END
A portion of a curling game that is completed when each team has thrown eight stones and the score has been decided.	La porcion de un juego de curling que se considera completa cuando cada equipo ha lanzado ocho piedras y el marcador se ha decidido
GUARD	GUARDIA
A stone that is placed in a position so that it may protect another stone.	Una piedra posisionada para protejer a otra piedra
HACKS	HACKS
The foot-holds at each end of the ice from which the stone is delivered.	Los soportes para el pie at final de la pista de hielo desde donde se lanzan las piedras
HAMMER	MARTILLO
The team with the last stone in any given end of play. The 16th delivered stone in any end is called the ?Hammer?	El equipo que tiene la ultima piedra al final de cualquier jugada. La 16a piedra lanzada en un END se llama martillo
HEAVY	PESADA
A rock delivered with a greater force than necessary.	Una piedra lanzada con mayor fuerza necesaria
HIT	HIT
A take-out. Removal of a stone from the playing area by hitting it with another stone.	La eliminacion de una piedra del area de juego a causa de ser golpeada por otra piedra
HOG LINE	LINEA HOG
A line 10 meters from the hack at each end of the ice.	Una linea de 10 metros originada desde el hack en cada extremo de la pista de hielo
HOGGED STONE	PIEDRA FUERA DEL HOG
A stone that does not reach the far hog line. It must be removed from play.	Cualquier piedra que no alcanza llegar dentro del la linea hog tiene que ser eliminada del juego
HOUSE	CASA
The rings or circles toward which play is directed consisting of a 12-foot ring, 8-foot ring, 4-foot ring and a button.	Los anillos o circulos hacia donde cada jugada es dirigida consistente de un anillo de 12 pies, uno de 8 pies, otro de 4 pies y el boton
IN-TURN	ROTAR HACIA DENTRO
The rotation applied to the handle of a stone that causes it to rotate in a clockwise direction and curl for a right-handed curler.	La direccion applicada al mango de la piedra que causa su rotacion en direccion y deslice de las manecillas del reloj par un curler de mano derecha
LEAD	LEAD
The first player on a team to deliver a pair of stones for his/her team in each end.	El primer jugador en el equipo que lanza un par de piedras en cada END de su equipo
OUT-TURN	ROTAR HACIA FUERA
The rotation applied to the handle of a stone that causes it to turn and curl in a counter-clockwise direction for a right-handed curler.	La direccion applicada al mango de la piedra que causa su rotacion en direccion y deslice en contra de las manecillas del reloj par un curler de mano derecha
PEBBLE	PEBBLE
A fine spray of water applied to a sheet of curling ice before commencing play.	Un spray de agua aplicado a la piesta de hielo que crea una capa fina antes de comenzar un juego
RAISE	LEVANTE
When one stone is bumped ahead by another.	Cuando una piedra es chocada por otra
ROLL	ROTAR
The movement of a curling stone after it has struck a stationary stone in play.	El movimiento de una piedra despues que ha chocado otra piedra estatica en juego
SECOND	SEGUNDO
The curler who delivers the second pair of stones for hi/her team in each end.	El curler que lanza el segundo par de piedras en cada END de su equipo
SHEET (or Ice)	PISTA
The specific playing surface upon which a curling game is played. Size is minimum 14?2? wide and 146? long. See graphic	La superficie especifica en donde un juego de Curling se juega. Las medias minimas son 14 pies 2 pulgadas de ancho por 146 pies de largo, ver grafico.
SHOT ROCK	SHOT ROCK
At any time during an end, the stone closest to the button.	La piedra mas cercana al boton
SKIP	SKIP
The player who determines the strategy, and directs play for the team. The skip delivers the last pair of stones for his/her team in each end.	El jugador que determina la estrategia y dirige el juego para su equipo. El Skip lanza el ultimo par de piedras par su equipo en cada End
SPARE	SPARE
An alternate player or substitute.	Jugador sustituto
SLIDER	SLIDER
Slippery material placed on the sole of the shoe, to make it easier to slide on the ice.	Material resbaladizo colocado en la suela del zapato para hacer mas facil deslizar en el hielo
SWEEPING	CEPILLAR
The action of moving a broom or brush back and forth in the path of a moving stone.	La accion de mover un cepillo rapidamente en la trayectoria de una piedra
TAKE OUT	ELIMINACION
Removal of a stone from the playing area by hitting it with another stone.	Eliminar una piedra del juego por causa de haber sido golpeada por otra piedra
TEE LINE	LINEA T
The line that passes through the centre of the house parallel to the hog line and backline.	La linea que pasa por el centro de la casa paralelo de la linea hog y la linea trasera
THIRD, VICE-SKIP OR MATE	TERCERO / VICE-SKIP
The third player on a team to throw two stones in each end. Generally this player acts as the skip when the skip is delivering his/her stones and assists with shot selection decisions.	El tercer jugador en un equipo en lanzar dos piedras en cada end. Generalmente este jugador actua como SKIP cuand el SKIP esta lanzando su piedras y ayuda con la seleccion de shots.
